Songs

"Michael Give Them Hell" to the tune of Bat Out of Hell
The phans are all cheerin'
And the music is blarin'
Way down in the theatre tonight.
M.C.'s standing in the shadows
With a smile on his face
And a spot light's shining oh so bright
There's music in the air
And there's a song in the sky
And phans are lined up down the Broadway streets
Oh and down in deli
Sippin' on a cup of coffee
Oh I swear I saw Lord Andy
Down in the dumps
He was starting to curse through his teeth
M.C.'s voice is the only thing
In this whole world that's
Pure and good and right
And wherever he is
And wherever he goes
The phans are gonna, for his Phantom, fight
But we're gettin' our way
We're gonna show the world now
Before that final curtain falls
If ya wanna please the phans
You gotta give us our man now
Or you're gonna regret
Not taking our advice
Now in DotV
M.C.'ll sing 'til the morning comes
When the music is startin'
Now in DotV
He'll sing on, on, on
Now in DotV
M.C.'ll sing 'til the morning comes
When the day is done
And the curtain goes up
And the stage lights shine so true
Then like an angel straight from
The realms of Heaven
M.C.'s voice brings us to heart-felt tears
He's gonna paint the town
Just like fourteen long years ago
When he sang Phantom's "Music of the Night"
When the music is hot
And the phans patiently waiting
We're gonna see a great show tonight
M.C.'s voice can only grow
As he takes on each new role
And Steinman knew that
All our hope was not lost
So he wrote a little rock
And he wrote a little roll
And cast M.C. no matter what the cost
And The Powers are damned
If they don't cast M.C.
But they feel they're damned if they do
But with every other beat
We got left in our heart
M.C.'s the only Phantom that can still sing true
If Phantom's gotta be filmed
You know it's gotta be filmed
Staring only Michael C.
If Phantom's gotta be filmed
You know it's gotta be filmed
Gotta be filmed
You know it's gotta be filmed
If it's gotta be filmed
You know it's gotta be filmed
Staring only Mike
Staring only Mike
Staring only Michael C.!
M.C.'s voice is the only thing
In this whole world that's
Pure and good and right
And wherever he is
And wherever he goes
The phans are gonna, for his Phantom, fight
But we're gettin' our way
We're gonna show the world now
Before that final curtain falls
If ya wanna please the phans
You gotta give us our man now
Or you're gonna regret
Not taking our advice
Now in DotV
M.C.'ll sing 'til the morning comes
When the music is startin'
Now in DotV
He'll sing on, on, on
Now in DotV
M.C.'ll sing 'til the morning comes
When the day is done
And the curtain goes up
And the stage lights shine so true
Then like an angel straight from
The realms of Heaven
M.C.'s voice brings us to heart-felt tears
Oh we can see M.C.
Singin' up a storm
Better than any other singer's
Ever done
And his voice is pure
And the hype is ripe
No-one's gonna stop him now
He's gonna reclaim his throne
But the Phantom film is
Still on our minds
The Powers never see the simple truth
'Til it's way too late
The Powers never see the simple truth
'Til it's way too late
And Andy's lying in a bottomless pit
Of his self-despair
Screaming and crying at the foot
Of a dying film
And all he hears everywhere
Are the phans who are tollin' a bell
And the last thing he sees
Is M.C. still singing
Moving into the limelight
And seizing the day
Now in DotV
And Andy's lying in a bottomless pit
Of his self-despair
Screamin' and cryin' at the foot of
A dying film
And all he hears everywhere
Are the phans who are tollin' a bell
And the last thing he sees
Is M.C. still singing
Still singing
Moving into the limelight
And seizing the day
Now in DotV
Now in Dotv
Now in DotV
Now in DotV
Now in DotV
Now in DotV
And to think that my English teachers didn't want to encourage creative
free-writing with me. I have NO idea why...

"Ya Got Trouble"
by Catharine Kearnigan
ALW, you are either closing your eyes to a situation you do not wish to
acknowledge, or you are unaware of the caliber of disaster indicted by
not having Michael Crawford in the Phantom movie!
Well, ya got trouble my friend
Right here, ya got trouble right in your Phantom movie.
Why sure, I'm a campaigner, certainly mighty proud to say it,
I'm Always mighty proud to say it.
I consider the hours I spend with a petition in my hand are golden
Helps ya feel helpful
Gettin' MC in the movie.
Didja ever find an iron clad way to stop them long petitions on a ton of
these here websites?
But as I will say it takes judgement, brains, and Michael C
To make a good Phantom movie
I say that any boob would tell ya MC's the best for the Phantom
And loss
The first on the steps to two thumbs down
I mean, geez, First
You chose John Travolta
Then Antonio Banderas!
And the next thing ya know ya got websites tryin' to get Mike in your POTO
And listenin' to some Spanish celebrity hearin' him tell about bein' the
Phantom
Not a good voiced Phantom, no,
But a movie where the singing is like a cat's
Like to see some stuck up Celebrity boy
Singin' like MC does
Make your blood boil
Well I should say
Now ALW, let me tell ya what I mean
Ya got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, million campaigners
Campaigners that make the difference
Between a smash hit and a bomb
With a capital B and that rhymes with C
And that stands for Crawford!
(Moulin Rouge Inspired - from "Moulin Rouge")
When I heard the song "The Show Must Go On," I thought of all of us and what we wish to accomplish with this campaign. So, I decided to wait a little bit before I started on my homework, and tried to fit the song with our terms. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope Andy realizes that the show can't go on without our beloved Michael.
"The Show Can't Go On"
by Kay
Another "actor", another mindless crime
Behind the curtain in the pantomime
On and on
Does anybody know what we are living for?
Whatever happens, they won't leave it to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on
Does anybody know what we are living for?
The show can't go on
The show can't go on
Outside the dawn is breaking
On the stage that holds our star's hopeful destiny
The show can't go on
The show can't go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My makeup maybe flaking
But my smile still stays on
The show can't go on
The show can't go on
We'll top the bill
We'll earn the kill
We know we'll find a way to win this one...
On with the... on with the... on with the show!
(I've been fine-tuning a POTO version of "Oops!...I Did It Again" for about two years now. It was horrendous... until now.
In a burst of inspiration halfway through French class, I finally decided to write it about TMCPMC. So, here goes. )
OOPS!...LORD ANDY DID IT AGAIN
I think he did it again
He made us believe
That he'd be our friend
Oh baby
A cast we'd like to flush
Andy, can you tell
That we're serious?
But to screw up his own musical
That is just so typically him
Oh baby, baby
C
HORUSYou see our problem is this
We're campaigning away
Wishin' that he would give Michael
a chance
We try every day
Lloyd Webber's a fool in so
many ways
But to screw up his own musical,
that is just so typically him
Baby, oh
CHORUS- repeat
CONDUCTOR: All aboard!
BOYFRIEND: Wait! Before you go, there's something I want you to have.
FEMALE PHAN: Oh, it's beautiful! But wait a minute. Isn't this...?
BOYFRIEND: Yeah, yes it is.
FEMALE PHAN: But I thought the little ballet girl took it away in the end.
BOYFRIEND: Well, baby, I went down and got it from her.
FEMALE PHAN: Oh, you shouldn't have!
Oops!...He did it again to our minds
Made this not-so beautiful game
Oh, baby
Oops!...He ignored the Phantom we love
It's not an accident
CHORUS
CHORUS
This little inspirational filk was inspired by a song w/ the same title from the musical Parade. (I love Brent Carver's voice... as much as a certain phantom's...) So, here we go.
"This Is Not Over Yet" (TMCPMC version)
Messenger:
(said)
Hey, Michael. Message from your fans.
MC:
(said)
What? What's happened?
Messenger:
(said)
They said 'you-know-who might cast you in you-know-what.'
MC:
(said)
Say that again...
Messenger:
'You-know-who, might cast you in you-know-what.'
MC:
(said)
Oh sweet Lord, how did they ever manage it? Do have any idea of what this
means?
(sung)
It means cancel all your parties
Forget your big parade
It means the crowd will not be jeering
so despite what you've been hearing
You can lay down your spade
It means my phans can stop their crying
The campaign will take their toll
It means that Johnny can stop beaming
And Tony can stop dreaming of his
"interpretation" of my role
It means, No! This isn't over
No the date's not set
It means I won't wake up tomorrow
Drowning in my sweat
It means I have the greatest fans
That anyone can get
It means I'll never ever ever
Underestimate those people
'Cause this is not over yet
Tell the critics not to worry
Tell the Powers not to hurry
Make the rumor mill stop humming
'Cause I'm coming into town to win the day!
Somehow they haven't, with their scheming,
Lost their will and they keep dreaming
And we're finally on our way
And, no! This isn't over
Hell, it's just begun
Hail the resurrection of the lost project of "Phantom"
It means that the future is much brighter
And nothing can compare to this light
It means the journey ahead might get shorter;
I might reach the end of my rope
But suddenly loud as a mortar
There is hope
Finally hope...
MC Phan:
Yes Michael there is hope...
MC:
And, no! This isn't over...
MC Phan:
No, this isn't over...
MC:
No, we aren't through...
MC phan:
We are fin'lly on our way...
Mc:
No, there's still a million things
That the fans and I can do...
MC phan:
We will fight for you Michael...
MC:
And I would never have believed it...
MC & MC phan:
The things I see in you
MC:
It means a star who has no talent
Doesn't have to replace me
The Phantom role is vacant
And I've got my fans to thank
It means
MC & MC phan:
You shouldn't underestimate
the TMCPMC
'Cause this is not over yet!
Hope you enjoyed it! (Sorry if MC seems a little out of character... but I had to put him in there! ;P)

"Is Our Year 2002?"
by Cory
The campaign battles on
But the PTB show great resistance.
We made it through the years,
The agony, and tears
By sheer persistence
To the edge of the artistic world!
Michael is The Phantom.
His voice rings loud and true.
And as he journeys back to Broadway,
Andy crumbles.
Is our year 2002?
Four long years ago,
Andy really starts to show
He is a ding-dong.
He said, "MC is out.
Now watch the phans all pout.
I am the winner!"
But look how we're still here!
Michael is The Phantom.
His voice rings loud and true.
And as he journeys back to Broadway,
Andy crumbles.
Is our year 2002?
You can call us all fools.
But we are fools with a heart.
We are optimistic phans.
We will be triumphant!
We won another round of the fight.
MC will be a creature of the night
Thanks to Jim Steinman.
Our thoughts turn towards the dark.
MC will capture our hearts.
He'll get a Tony.
The PTB can't resist!
Michael is The Phantom.
His voice rings loud and true.
And as he journeys back to Broadway,
Andy crumbles.
I think our year's 2002. :)
(Sung to the tune of "Hey Hey We're the Monkees") (Don't ask me why it just came to me)
"Hey Hey We're Campaigners!"
Campaigners come,
Walking down the street
Telling our story,
To Everyone we meet.
Hey, Hey We're Campaigners,
TPTB say we're wasting our time.
But we're too busy fighting,
and they won't change our minds.
We're so tired of being friendly
and having our desires ignored.
If you want to know if we are serious
Take a look at this message board!
Hey, Hey we want Michael,
and noone else will we see.
We won't settle for a cheap imitation,
We don't want Antonio B.
HEY, HEY WE'RE CAMPAIGNERS!!
(To the tune of "What'll I do?" )
"What'll you do? -- a musical question for Lord Lloyd-Webber"What'll you do
when we have gone away,
and you are blue?
What'll you do?
What'll you do
when there is no one who
still respects you?
What'll you do?
What'll you do
with just an empty house
to show your movie to?
What'll you do
when no one makes a fuss
because of us?
What'll you do?
Do you remember the promise you made,
or has it just faded from memory?
We're here to tell you that we won't forget --
and we want our own happy ending!
What'll you do
with just an empty house
to show your movie to?
This is your chance
to make our dream come true --
We're asking you....
What'll you do?
Regards --
Kate
"Campaign Ribbons"
by Audrey Aucott
I came to this site one night and when I left I said a prayer.
Give the mask to Michael Crawford, return him to the Phantoms lair.
Lord, how could they cast another? They all know its so unfair.
They should share our strong misgivings, but money talks, so they dont care.
All these months, our hearts still aching, reason shows no sign of waking.
We speak again and hope were read by the new management over there.
We want Michael, Michael only, Crawford in the Phantoms lair.
We send letters by the hundred. Were in papers everywhere.
Thousands call for Michael Crawford! How can they be unaware?

"Not In My Castle on a Cloud"
by Diane F.
There is a castle on a cloud,
I like to go there in my sleep,
There are no "Lords" who make me weep,
Not in my castle on a cloud...
There is a room thats full of tapes,
Of the true Phantom for boys and girls.
Nobody watches Antonio the "proud,"
Not in my castle on a cloud.
There is a Phantom with mask of white,
Softly he sings a lullaby...
He's nice to hear but he's not to touch,
He says "Christine, I love you very much."
I know a place where no campaigns lost,
I know a place where no fan cries.
Crying at all is not allowed,
(Les Miserables)
"We Dreamed a Dream"
by Diane F.
There was a time when they were kind,
When their voices were soft,
And their words inviting...
There was a time when love was blind,
And the world was a song,
And the song was exciting...
There was a time
Then it all went wrong....
We dreamed a dream from times gone by,
When hopes were high,
The movie waiting....
We dreamed his performance would not die,
What Michael gave would be unending...
Now we look back and are afraid,
That dreams we had are devastated....
There was no "Box Office" to be paid,
No "Draw" be used,
No talent wasted....
But the moguls come at night,
With their voices soft as thunder...
As they tear your hopes apart,
And they turn your dreams to shame....
Weve spent three summers side by side,
At times our days were filled with wonder...
We took our failures all in stride....
We would not stop till "Autumn" came!
And still we dream theyd set it free!
The film promised would come together...
But there are dreams that may not be...
And there are storms we still must weather.
We had a dream the film would be,
So different from the rumors were hearing,
So changed from once what it had seemed...
Before they killed
The dream we dreamed.....

"Do You Hear the Fans All Sing?"
by Diane F.
Do you hear the fans all sing?
Singing a song of angry men!
It is the music of campaigners
Wholl not be ignored again!
When the beating of your heart,
Echoes the beating of the drums,
Will there be a success
When the Phantom movie comes?
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the escapade
Is there a film you long to see?
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!!
Do you hear the fans all sing?
Singing a song of angry men!
It is the music of campaigners
Wholl not be ignored again!
When the beating of your heart,
Echoes the beating of the drums,
Will there be a success
When the Phantom movie comes?
Will you give all you can give?
So that our cause may still advance
Some will stay and some will leave
Will you stand up and take your chance?
Through the work of crusaders
The films future may be enhanced!
Do you hear the fans all sing?
Singing a song of angry men!
It is the music of campaigners
Wholl not be ignored again!
When the beating of your heart,
Echoes the beating of the drums,
Will there be a success
When the Phantom movie comes?
(To the tune of "Is Anybody There" from "1776" )
"Does Anybody Care?"
by Chele Tourney
In an exuberant battle cry, TMCPMC shares its vision with the world...
Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Does anybody see what we see?
They want us to quit; they say, "Guys, give up the fight."
Still to Andrew we say, "We'll fight til you make it right!"
For we know who the Phantom is.
Let Andrew try to be rid of us!
Come what may, still we stay....commitment!
Warner Bros. all say we'll go first day;
Our good money we'll pay to see Banderas dark and brooding.
But through all their hype, our goal's in sight!
We can see Michael Crawford as the one true Phantom,
Passion exuding...
Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Does anybody see what we see?
We see the chandelier! We see the opera and the mist-covered lake!
We hear Michael's voice climb and soar, the sound of his music of the night!
We see his performance, in all its glory, live on FOREVER MORE!
How beautiful, how beautiful our dream still is...
How crucial, how crucial our voice still is....
Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Does anybody see what we see?
(Here's a song from one of my favourite musical shows, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," but it's...er...let's say, slightly adapted. To the tune of "Rose Tint My World")
"Grey Tints Your World"
By Sonja
It was great when it all began
I was a regular Banderas fan
But it was over when he had the plan
To start working on his Phantom-man
Antonio is forty years old (well, for the sake of the rhythm of this song!)
And truly beautiful to behold
But somehow he should be told
That his singing hasn't been controlled
So the only thing to give up hope
Is the casting of a certain dope
Grey tints your world
Won't keep you safe from your trouble and pain
"Time Warp"

nothing!) ;)
By Jenn
It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes it's toll
But listen closely,
Not for very much longer
Michael deserves the role!

"Excuse our Dust"
by Diane F.
Oh MC's puttin' on his top hat
Tyin' up his white tie
Brushin' off his tails...
We're steppin' out, my dear
To breathe an atmosphere
That simply reeks with class
And we trust
That you'll excuse our dust
When we step on the gas!
(From " Anything Goes" to the tune of "Anything Goes")
(Okay, this is actually really just up to the tap section)
"Everything Blows"
by Catharine
Kearnigan
Times have changed
And we've often rewound the clock
Since us campaigners got a shock
Cuz we thought POTO would rock
But today
Because of ALW and his friends
Stead of MC in the movie, um, *ock*
Our dreams are at an end
In olden days, movies had talent
And there actually was a balance
'Tween cons and pros
Now, everything blows
Good writers, too, who once wrote better songs
Now do us Phans a lotta wrongs
Writing prose
Everything blows
ALW's gone mad today
The singing's bad today
The mask white, today,
Singing Music of the Night, today,
Singin' a lot like a cat today
And we Phans just pray
MC's in the best of the Phantom roles
Ben Elton is no great romancer
And we'll have to answer
To what ALW will propose
"Everything blows!"
(A Les Miz message to ALW)
"On
Your Own"
by Catharine
Kearnigan
And now you're all alone again
Nowhere to turn
No-one to go to
Without a Phan
Without a friend
Without a welcoming face to say hello to
But now the time is near
And this is what you're gonna hear
Sometimes you think up stupid stars
For this Phantom movie that you're making
You say that your choices are good,
But we all know that you're faking
Our faces turn a flaming red
Our message ringing in your head
On your own
Pretending we're on your side
All alone
Your movie will be suicide
Without us, your movie is a big flop
But with Michael Crawford as Phantom you could be on the top
In your mind
Banderas seems a good choice
But us Phans
Know he's got a terrible voice
But Michael
We know he is much better
And with him in your movie, you'll go down as great forever
And we know
What you think MC in your mind
That you should choose some big name
And not him
And although
We know that you are blind
Still we say that you should listen to us
We love him
But when this movie's over
We'll be gone
And you'll never be sober
Without him, you'll put on the Phantom movie
It'll stink, the profits sink, but still you'll call it "groovy"
We love him
But every day we're learnin'
All this time, you've only been pretendin'
You want a big name to be playin' the Phantom
Like Travolta, Banderas, or maybe you'll choose someone who is worse
You'd love that
You'd love that
You'd love that, but only on your own.....
(To the tune of "De-Lovely" from Anything Goes) De-Stupid by Catharine Kearnigan Guy Phan: The time is now Their choice is clear So if you wanna get em talkin, dear (tell em) ALW's demented He's defected He's de-stupid I understand the reason why Your temperamental Cuz so am He's demented He's defected He's de-stupid U can tell at a glimpse That this Phantom movie is bein produced by wimps You can hear the Phan campaigners murmuring low "AB's gotta go" So please help me, my chickadee, When I denounce him just say to me "He's demented He's defected He's delirious It's a dilemma He's de-stupid" Girl Phan: I feel a sudden urge to sing Bout how AB's voice is so alarming Guy: I'll control my desire to curse (him) While you crucify the verse Girl: AB's voice, it seems to me, couldn't carry the simplest melody. by Elaine Brennen
The cast (in order of appearance ;-):
ALW - Andrew Lloyd Webber
Antonio - Antonio Banderas
Ben Elton (as himself)
WB - Warner Brothers bosses
Shakur Kapur (as himself although slightly mispelled!)
The setting - After the inevitable failure of "The Phantom of The Opera" movie,
the culprits all gather together to find out just what went wrong!
ALW: It's because of you there's no money in my bank, and my career is dead!
Antonio: But it isn't my fault,
I was given the deal!
You persuaded me to trade away my sex appeal!
And without my looks, then I'd have to act
And I really couldn't do that in the first place!
ALW: Wait a minute, you can't act. Why was I not told?
Well then obviously that's what made the movie fold,
The MCPMC, what did they say to me?
Oh shoot, they were trying to persuade me not to cast AB!
Ben Elton: [to ALW & Antonio]: See, it's your fault.
Antonio: No!
ALW: (about Antonio) So it's his fault..
Antonio: No!
Ben Elton: Yes, it is!
Antonio: It's not!
ALW: It's true.
Antonio: (about ALW) Wait a minute, I only took the role because your wife
begged me too.
Ben Elton: So it's her fault!
Antonio: Yes!
ALW: No, it isn't!
I'd have cast MC, but the fans would win.
They: (pointing to WB) said the only way to guarantee a hit was him! (looking
at Antonio)
WB: Well don't blame us he'd have done the task,
If you hadn't went and put him in that stupid mask.
Ben Elton: Oh. Then it's his fault (about ALW)!
WB: So.
Shakur Kapur: It was his fault..
ALW: No.
Antonio: Yes, it is, it's his.
Shakur Kapur: I guess..
Antonio: Wait a minute, though--
I sucked at the acting, right? That's clear.
But without any acting, then what's weird?
Is why was the stupid film even made
In the first place?
..second place..
Shakur Kapur: Yes!
Ben Elton: Why?
ALW: Hmm..
Antonio: Well, who did the casting?
ALW: The casting?
Shakur Kapur: The casting?
Antonio [to Andy]: It was you who did the casting.
ALW: I didn't!
Yes, I did.
Shakur Kapur: So it's your fault!
ALW: No, it isn't, 'cause I gave it to my wife!
Ben Elton: So it's her fault!
ALW: NO, IT ISN'T!
Shakur Kapur: Then whose is it?
ALW: Wait a minute!
She loved AB yes that much is true,
But MC who I'd have cast was refused by you (to Warner Brothers)!
WB: You mean that old man that made the fans all cheer?
[as they all look at Warner Brothers]
But it was you (to ALW) said he wouldn't do?
SO, don't look here!
Shakur Kapur: So it's their fault!
WB: But--
Antonio: See, it's their fault--
WB: But--
Antonio: And it isn't mine at all!
ALW [to WB]: But what?
WB[to ALW]: Well, if you hadn't sold us the rights, what then?
ALW: I was needy.
WB: You were greedy! Did you need the film?
WB: But I made it for my fans!
Ben Elton: So it's their fault then!
WB: Yes, and what about the changes to the script in the third place?
ALW: The script
Ben Elton: he went and paid me too (pointing at ALW)
ALW: I paid you too?
Ben Elton: He paid me too
[to the others] He said for me to make it new
ALW: ME?
Ben ELton: He paid me!
ALW: No I didn't
Antonio/Shakur Kapur/Andy: (to Ben Elton): So it's your fault!
Ben Elton: Wait a minute!
Shakur Kapur: If you hadn't paid him to--
ALW: (to Ben Elton) And you had left the script alone,
We wouldn't be in trouble in the first place!
Ben Elton: (to ALW) Well, if you hadn't gave away the rights
In the first place--!
It was your fault!
