You'd Better Make a Start
By Sonja

Here's a little song I wrote
I want ALW to sing it note for note ;-)
Well, the music and the lyrics (except for a few changes) are stolen from "Starlight Express" but I honestly must admit that I don't give a damn about that...here it goes:

It's time to choose between the two of them -
You'd better make a start.
Someone help you make up your heart.
Tell us how to make up your heart.

You think two Phantoms can be twice the fun -
I think it's time that you get smart!
Someone help me make up his heart
And tell me how to make up his heart.

Antonio seems so good
And his voice oh, so strong
But both could turn out wrong
So who gets the part?
Make up your mind!
Make up your heart!

You think two Phantoms would be twice the fun -
But it's tearing me apart.
Someone has to make up your heart.
I'll tell you how to make up your heart.

One of them has style,
Sets the world alight, (guess who?!)
The other makes me smile ("laugh" would even fit better)
So who gets the part?
Make up your mind!
Make up your heart!

"We Only Want to Say"
by Diane F.

We only want to say...
If there is a way....
Take this cup away from us, for we don’t want to taste its poison.
Feel it burn us, we haven’t changed...
We’re just as sure, as when we started...

We have been inspired!
At times we’re sad and tired...
Listen surely, we’ve exceeded, expectations,
Tried for THREE YEARS!!
Seems like thirty....
Could you ask as much from any other fans?

We all did try...
We all DID TRY!!
To see the saga through and do the things to set us free!
You can turn away from us, not listen to our pleas....

We wanna see, we wanna see our Guy!
We wanna see, we wanna see OUR GUY!

Why should we cry?
Why make us cry?
Could we be more noticed than we ever were before?
Will the things we’ve said and done ever matter to you "Lord"?

We’ll have to see, we’ll have to see, My Lord,
How much the campaign may still have in store...
If we succeed just what may be your reward?
Financial success and respect from the fans for sure.

Why should we try?
Why can’t YOU try?
Can you show us now that this has not been fought in vain?
Show us a little fairness, and we will give to you the same...
Show us there’s no reason for your causing us to cry...
You’re far too keen on Antonio, and not so hot on why.

We will still try!
Just watch us try!
See how we try.....
WATCH HOW WE TRY!

We have been inspired...
At times we're sad and tired...
After all we’ve tried for three years, seems like ninety...
We are NOT too scared to finish, what we started...
What YOU started - WE didn’t start it!!

Yes our will is hard!!!
But you hold every card...
We won’t drink your cup of poison!
You can try, but you will never break us!!!
Listen to your fans continued pleadings...
Hear us now and please decide to change your mind!!!
Now.. BEFORE THERE IS NO TIME!!!!!!!!

"Don't Cry For Us Andrew-Webber"
by Heather Lesh

It won't be easy, you'll think it's strange
When we try to explain how we feel
That we still want Crawford after all that he's done.

You don't believe us
All that you see is Senor Banderas
Although he's great in Evita
He isn't the Phantom to us.

You cannot let this happen, you have to change
Couldn't let him sing the Phantom
When you have to change the music and score.

So we chose Crawford.
Fighting so hard, trying everything new
But nothing will change your mind
But we all expected you to.

CHORUS:
Don't cry for us, Andrew Webber
When we don't go see your movie
You didn't listen
To millions of fans
Who wanted Crawford to be the Phantom...

And as for fortune, and as for fame
We know you are taking a risk
If you cast Crawford in the leading role.

But he's the first one
He made the role all it should be
The answer was there all the time
We love him and hope you will see...

CHORUS
Have we said too much?
There is nothing more we can think of to say to you
But all you have to do is look at us to know
That every word is true.

And here is an addition from Christaline....

Don't Cry for Us Lloyd Webber
by Christaline

You let down you people Lloyd Webber,
You were supposed to have CAST Michael Crawford,
That's all we wanted,
Not Much to ask for... But in the end you would not deliver.

Have I said to much?
And you're too stubborn a man to be lectured to,
But all you have to do is listen to the phans to know that every word is TRUE!

You let down you people Lloyd Webber,
You were supposed to have CAST Michael Crawford,
That's all we wanted,
Not Much to ask for... But in the end you would not deliver.

(The tune of "An Unexpected Song")

"An Unexpected Wrong"
by Donna Nalley

We have never felt like this
"NO MICHAEL" what harsh words
Your choice has really thrown us

Your choice makes no sense at all
We never thought We'd know
The kind of betrayal you've shown us

Chorus:
Now no matter how we beg
No matter how we plea
Antonio's name keeps appearing

This An Unexpected Wrong
An Unexpected Wrong
That only you are causing

We don't know what's going on
Can't figure it out at all
Please just explain to us

We just can't believe our ears
Michael Crawfords who we want
Any other will offend us

Chorus:
Now no matter how we beg
No matter how we plea
Antonio's name keeps appearing

This An Unexpected Wrong
An Unexpected Wrong
That Only You Are Causing!!!

"Any Dream Won't Do"
by Diane F.

I closed my eyes, drew back the curtain...
To see for certain, what I thought I knew.
Both far and near, the fans were weeping,
I was not sleeping...
And the dream gone too.

I fought my war...
With many others...
Bright battles shining...
Wonderful and new.
But deep within....
Our hearts were breaking...
The fan's were waking..
Just the dream would do.

A crash of worlds, a show of might!
Our campaign and crusading became quite a fight!
The golden days grew into darkness,
We felt so alone....

May we return, to the beginning?
Before our hopes were dimming...
As the dream is too...

The world and us,
We are still waiting...
Not hesitating....
Just the dream will do!
Not shy of saying....
Cast Michael too!
Never tired of saying......
He's the Phantom for you!!!!

Any dream....... any dream won't do.......
(We love you Michael!!!!)

"And The Money Will Roll Right In"
by Maggie Birge

And the money will roll right in
From every side.
Phantom lovers have thoughts they don't want to hide.
You may think they don't know what they need...
But you miss the point my friends.
When so many fans speak their minds you've got to hear.
Think of all the people
Shouting out so loud and clear.
Don't ignore the letters written
Thousands piled so high...
Never been a group like Michael Crawford's loyal fans.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' on in
Rollin' on in Rollin' on in Rollin' in on in

Would you like your film to be a great sensation?
Break all the records
Give you such a celebration!

Phantom's fans can guarantee
Your movie dreams come true.
Here's all you have to do my friends.
Leave the music alone.
Do not change anything or it'll be weak
And to make it sublime,
Give us the Phantom we seek
Michael Crawford is
The one and only star of this show.

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' on out
Rollin' on out Rollin' on out on out

"Michael and His Amazing Technicperfect Dreamvoice"
by Paula Blake

Go! Go! now Michael, hear what we say!
Hang on now Michael, we'll get our own way!
We won't give up Michael, we'll fight 'til we drop!
We've seen the polls and you come out on top!

WEBBER'S STORY

Webber, he was a powerful man,
with the musical world in the palm of his hand.
To all intents and purposes he,
was theatre with a capital 'T'
Whatever he did he was showered with praise.
If he cast a part, then you fell in a daze!
No one had rights or a vote, but him.
In fact, you might say, he was arrogantly dim!
When Andrew's around, then you can't help feeling down.
If you ever find yourself near to this Lord -
you will be ignored!

Chorus:
The Phantom movie!
The Phantom movie!
The Phantom movie!
The Phantom movie!

Down there at the end of the queue,
Michael is still so loved it is true.
His Phantom is the one we want to see.
Most of the world say that they agree!
Now, if my analysis of the position is right.
Banderas could give Hollywood a fright!
For we've all heard the way that he sings.
He shattered the chandelier my dar-lings!
Think of the cost, but no, all hope it is not lost!
There's a man who's better for the role by far!
Could win an Oscar!

Chorus:
He is famous!
Could be a big success!
He is famous!
Could be a big success!

Memories
by Diane F.

Memories…
Of his day in the theatre,
A magical moment
That is fading away….
I still look back
And yearn to return to the time,
When the true Phantom was part of the day. . .

Memories…
Not a sound from Lloyd Webber,
Has he lost all his memories?
Am I in mine alone?
I remember
The magnificence that Michael was then,
And my heart begins to moan..

Memories…
Of the performance that he gave…
I can smile at those past days,
He was so beautiful then...
I remember, the grace and elegance that he was too,
Let the memory live again!

Every bit of mankind seems to speak
Of that splendorous performance...
All around me in endless wonder,
The audience was so adoring!

Memories…
As I relive the experience,
I remember the magic…
And I'll never give in.
Until the ending,
And what he gave is just memory too…
Please let his Phantom reign again!

Saddened at the lack of success…
The unknowing dawn of each morning...
Hope is fading, the campaign frustrating,
But each morning we start all over….

Each day
It's so easy to blame you!
As I recall the memories,
Of his days in the sun.
If you try to,
You'll remember the magic that Michael was then...
Please Lord Lloyd-Webber
Begin again...

"We Want the Tony Winner!"
by Paula Blake

Boooohoooo! Boooohoooo!

Webber, I've somethin' to tell you,
before it is too late.
A tragic ee-vent will o-ccur.
I have forseen your fate!
You know you had a Phantom hit?
Well, soon that won't be true.
Keep your hand high and do beware
that old Punjab lasso!
You see, I want the Tony winner
and NOT An-Tony-o!
Michael's your Angel o' Music.
You don't need a Spanish beau!
He sure is the one true Phantom.
There is no other O.G.
See, Michael's the one that I vote fer.
Like, why can't you agree?!
When I think of his last great performance,
a lump comes to my throat!
It takes a man who knows no fear
to guide that, wayward boat!
Your well-kicked butt is proof that you
have angered me real strong!
Your music may be wonderful,
but your mind, is sure done gone!!

So THINK, li'l Andy! Adios Antoniooo! Tend t'ward Good Mikey!

He sure is the one true Phantom!
There is no other O.G.
See, Michael's the one that we vote fer,
the Phantom WE want to see!

Cast MC with pride and ree-spect!
And you'll not ree-gret
that you done blew it! You darn blew it!
THE WORLD WILL NOT FORGIT!!

We want the Tony winner!
And NOT An-Tony-o!
Michael's the one that we vote fer!
Tell Banderas to go! YEE HA!

(Please feel free to sing the last 4 lines as often as you find necessary!!!)

(From "Cats," sung to "The Rum Tum Tugger")

"Andrew Lloyd Webber is a Curious Cat"
by Diane F.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a curious cat

If you offer the true Phantom, he'd rather have a "Draw."
If you don’t prefer the "Draw," on him your fears fall flat...
And as your fears fall flat, he’ll treat you like a mouse.
As he treats you as a mouse, he’ll ignore you for a fact.
If he ignores "all" for a fact, his film will play to an empty house...

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a curious cat!
Though there shouldn’t be a need for us to shout it!
It seems he’ll do as he do do
We’ll continue trying to do something about it!

Andrew Lloyd Webber his fans can really annoy

Though we’ve all let him know, he still won’t help out!
He’s always on the wrong side of every door...
Continually we’ve tried, in newspapers about,
Shouting Michael as the Phantom is "top drawer."
We’ve made such a fuss as we got the word out!

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a curious cat
And there isn't any need for you to doubt it,
It seems he’ll do as he do do
We’ll continue trying to do something about it!

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a curious beast

His disobliging ways seem a matter of habit.
If you offer him loyalty, he’ll just cast you aside..
When there’s no loyalty left, from his fans he’ll just hide...
If you offer the best, then he’ll just turn away..
For he only like’s what he wants for himself...
And though "in it" from fans right up to his ears..
He’ll cast the true Phantom away on the shelf....

Andrew Lloyd Webber is artful and knowing

Doesn't care if the movie’s a muddle...
And he’ll leap on the bandwagon for a "Draw" even knowing...
That his fans are in a rebellious huddle!

Andrew Lloyd Webber is a curious cat
Though there shouldn’t be a need for us to shout it!
It seems he’ll do as he do do
We’ll continue trying to do something about it!

(To the melody of "Memory" from "Cats")

"Memory"
by Chele Tourney

Andrew Lloyd Webber sits in an empty movie theatre, reflecting on his
decision in the casting of the Phantom (Let's hope it doesn't have to happen
this way!)

Opening night, not a sound from the theatre.
Have the fans lost their memory?  They should be here in throngs...
I well remember the fame and the large profits I gained
When the Phantom sang my songs.

Why, then, do I sit here in silence?
I was sure that Banderas would be packing them in.
Yet no one's here, there's nobody but me in the place,
And the movie's about to begin.

For him I had to drop some songs and alter the whole score.
Yet as I listen, I have come to realize the quality's still poor!

As the Phantom, Banderas shows no real passion.
His voice is as flat and as dull as I ever have heard.
He never had the power to make my songs really soar
As they did with Crawford.

Could it be that I was wrong in making him my choice?
Yes, it's true that in the Phantom's case, what matters most is voice!

Forgive me!  Search your hearts and forgive me!
Michael's the only true Phantom; I know it's wrong what I've done.
As I weep now over the death of my brilliant career,
Crawford's new show has begun....

(To the melody of "Nothing Like You've Ever Known" from "Tell Me On a Sunday")

"Nothing Like We've Ever Heard"
by Chele Tourney

A Phan shares her feelings about Crawford's Phantom and laments that she
may never see him in that role...

Nothing like we've ever heard,
That's the voice that Michael Crawford shared with us.
Nothing like we've ever known,
That's the passion and pain his Phantom gives us.

Could have sworn he'd have made the perfect lead.
My heart ached for him when his songs was through; yours did, too...

Oh, nothing like we've ever seen,
I thought he would be the first and the lasting Phantom.
The Phans are all expecting more;
How we miss those lovely days of the REAL Phantom!

Please don't let this lifetime moment pass.
If I live a thousand years, Crawford still will be Erik to me...

Nothing like they'll ever know,
If Crawford's performance is never to be captured.
Since him there've been many more,
But each time I close my eyes, I still hear him there....
