I had a dream last
night--no, it was a nightmare. In a random drive-by shooting, my
Michael--our Michael--was injured and died of his wounds. The personal
loss was devastating, although I never met him, indeed never even saw
him perform in person. My outrage at TPTB was uncontrollable. The
funeral was to be held in England, so only the wealthiest of Michael's
adorers were able to attend. I couldn't see him in life, now I could not
even pay my final respects. This made me incredibly sad. I pray daily
for Michael's safety and wellbeing; however, considering the current
state of the world, there is no certainty than any one will survive the
day, and there are natural disasters that can claim lives in a
heartbeat, as we all know. Normally I would not share such a horrid and
tragic "dream," but I felt compelled to try once again to convince TPTB
that although Michael is super-human to some of us, he is indeed only
human and subject to the same uncertainties in life as the rest of us.
PLEASE, TPTB, don't let this man's magnificant talent, boundless energy,
deep dedication to his craft and to his fans, be lost forever. Make the
movie, based TIGHTLY on the play, and preserve the performer and
performance of a lifetime for future generations. You will make much
money for yourselves and to pass along to your future generations, if
money is all that motivates you. Being in the entertainment business,
you should be ashamed of yourselves to be motivated more by money than
by art. In the dream, TPTB were the objects of my rage, but thank God, I
awoke before I carried out my vendetta against them. Di, I know you may
not want to publish this, but it was scary--and d*** it, it could
happen, may God forbid! Long live Michael! Long live his role as
Phantom! "I love you, too, Erik!" |
